In Zen Shiatsu, hara is an educational map of the abdomen: zones, tone and presence. It is not a medical diagnosis and not a substitute for in-person training.

What you study when you study hara

The map traditionally relates to organs and channels in a teaching language (Kyo/Jitsu, empty/full) that organises attention on the table. It supports quiet listening and orientation — not disease labelling. Meridiania treats it as an educational tool at /practice/hara.

Bridge to front-mu points

Front-mu points (CV12 Zhongwan, ST25 Tianshu, LR13 Zhangmen and companions) are studied in the mu family and sheets. A healthy bridge: open CV12 and ST25, locate them in the abdomen region of the 3D atlas, return to the hara tool and place sensation on the map. If you cross shu–mu or Masunaga extensions, keep layers distinct.

Presence routine (15 minutes)

1) Quiet breath without agenda. 2) Orient the hara map (where you are, which zone you watch). 3) One mu point in 3D + sheet. 4) Study note: landmark, meridian, open question for class. 5) Optional: abdomen flashcards — not a “symptom protocol”.
