Breathe. Listen to the channel. Follow the Qi.

Where pressure meets the meridian, the body remembers its own map — shiatsu, TCM and study in one quiet pulse.

How to locate a point: cun and bone

Atlas

A sheet without a bone is memorised and forgotten. The bony landmark leads; the cun divides the distance when the text gives one.

The order

Read the bone or crease named on the sheet. Find that mark on your body or on the 3D figure. Only then measure the cun the text adds. If bone and cun disagree, read again: do not place the point where it is convenient.

Two cun that get mixed

Thumb cun is quick in class. Proportional cun divides a known segment, for example elbow to wrist. The cun guide separates them slowly.

One example

ST36 is studied from the knee: below ST35, one finger lateral to the tibial crest. The knee is the bone. The three cun are the measure. The sheet and the atlas have to say the same thing.

Questions

Is a cun a centimetre?
No. It is a measure proportional to the body you are studying. The same “three cun” fits a short forearm and a long one.
Is the 3D atlas enough?
The atlas fixes the picture. The school and supervised palpation confirm the hand. This page does not replace that table.

Study reference within traditional Shiatsu/TCM frameworks. Does not diagnose or treat.
