It is the channel of the side. It zigzags on the head and descends the lateral trunk and leg. Wood, paired with liver.
The study pathway
It starts at GB1, at the outer corner of the eye. It crosses the temple and occiput, passes GB20 in the neck, the shoulder, the side of the trunk, the hip and the lateral leg, and ends at GB44, on the fourth toe.
Three landmarks
GB20 below the occiput, often asked for on head and neck maps. GB34 in front of and below the head of the fibula: the he-sea of the channel and a clear bony landmark. The hip stretch is read on the sheet, not collapsed into one code.
Wood and the clock
Gallbladder is wood, paired with liver. On the clock it occupies 23–01. Do not confuse it with the liver meridian, which runs on the medial leg and the dorsum of the foot (LR3).

Questions
- How many gallbladder points are there?
- 44 on the classical channel. The head holds many of them; the leg holds the bony landmarks.
- Is GB20 on the bladder channel?
- No. GB20 is gallbladder. Bladder passes nearby on the neck, on another line. That is why you look in 3D and do not merge them in the note.
